Richard Coombes

Richard is one of the founding Directors of ValueAdding.com Ltd, having established the business in 1999. He has worked with commercial and public sector clients in that time, leading on the development of our Rough-cut Activity Based Costing work and our involvement in the National Process Improvement Project sponsored by DCLG.

Prior to working for ValueAdding Richard worked for a number of well-known manufacturing businesses selling products as diverse as glassware, varnish, baby wipes and video tape. He has also worked as an Associate Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University Business School.

Richard lives in Sheffield with his wife Ann. Originally from Birmingham he lived and worked in Swansea before returning to the city where he was at University. He is a keen follower of Rugby Union and Cricket and in football has been known to shout for "The Blues", albeit from afar; his current sporting achievements are limited to the squash court.

Chris Fegan

Chris has been with ValueAdding.com for nearly 10 years having spent the previous 8 working in operational roles across the telecoms industry. With global companies Chris focused on the service functions delivering and managing customer services and third party partnership sales channels. His experience and passion of front line services soon meant he developed an appetite for business improvement and took his passion and skills into improving the end-to-end process of the organisations and ultimately the customer experience.

Within ValueAdding.com, as a Director he is responsible for the development of the organization both of its staff and its clients. As a bright and personable professional, Chris has delivered transformation initiatives within clients, ranging from being part of the management team that designed, built and successfully implemented Central Government Shared Services through to being Transition Manager for the insourcing of a Revenues and Benefits service with ~ 200 staff for a London council.

Chris's passion is in actually making the change happen for the benefit of organisations and customers.

A keen family man, married and recently celebrating the birth of their first child, a daughter, he likes to spend time as a family exploring, both locally in Sussex, across the country and abroad.

Having come from a sporting family, Chris first love is football, but is a keen golfer, squash player and cyclist, for the 3rd year completing the Capital to Coast bike ride for Norwood Charity which is a 60 mile jaunt from London to Hove.

An Amazon Kindle convert, he enjoys reading and the Kindle is easy to carry, his favourite author having read all his books is Wilbur Smith and his tales of Africa.

Andrew Woodhouse

Andrew is an experienced consultant specialising in business transformation, ICT and programme management.

He has worked across the UK within all tiers of local government and with a wide range of departments and services providing expert support and advice; particularly in social work, environmental services and front-line services. Andrew's clients also include other public sector organisations giving him broad knowledge and experience.

Andrew is experienced in the implementation and management of computer systems and has an extensive project and programme management track record including corporate contact centres, CRM systems and more specialist departmental systems; he also has skills in the provision of training and coaching in his fields of expertise.

Prior to consulting, Andrew spent over fifteen years working in local government in a number of different areas including Corporate Performance, Corporate IT, Street Services, Library Services and Programme Management. He programme managed the largest web-based community regeneration empowerment and engagement project in Europe, and has experience in both English and devolved administrations.

Andrew lives in Cardiff with his wife, Kathryn, and their two rescue greyhounds and a lurcher. He is a keen runner and enjoys 10km racing and is frequently joined in his training by an eager greyhound.

Forid Meah

Forid has over 15 years' experience leading and managing change in large public service organisations Forid has led whole organisation service improvement and business transformation programmes in Local Government in the UK and Australia. Forid specialises in managing change in complex political environments, delivering cashable efficiency savings and improving service performance.

Forid is an expert in organisational governance and leadership, and has led reform in public services in the UK and Australia. As a consultant, Forid has developed and delivered numerous transformation programmes for clients in England, Wales and in Australia. As a senior manager, he has delivered multi-million pound savings in both back office and customer facing services at Manchester City Council and Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council. At the Cabinet Office, Forid developed national policy on choice and personalisation in Local Government services. Previously, his work in performance management has been published as national best practice by the Audit Commission and the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA). He has also worked with numerous Government Departments in the development of Local Strategic Partnerships, Local Area Agreements, and many other policy initiatives often leading national pilots.

Throughout his career, Forid has worked closely with organisational leaders in Local Government, health, Police, regional organisations, Executive Agencies and non-departmental public bodies. Highly developed persuasion and negotiation skills have helped him build a reputation for delivering difficult tasks in challenging timescales.

Forid believes passionately about high performing public services delivering best value and changing people's lives for the better. He was previously a Non-Executive Area Board Member with Sheffield Homes; the largest ALMO in the country. He was also a Governor and Vice Chair of a primary school helping it to rank in the top 5% and 3% of primary schools nationally for CVA performance.

When not working, Forid spends most of his time running after two lively children. Luckily, Forid lives in Sheffield which has lots of open space to enjoy. Forid also has a keen interest in photography and film making.

Alex Gore

Alex is an experienced, motivated and commercially-focused public sector digital change leader, having extensive managerial experience across a broad range of local government service areas (including IT, social care, children’s services, housing, welfare, finance), together with a detailed knowledge of IT requirements and digital transformation in the Policing sector. He combines a deep understanding of PRINCE2, MSP, Agile, Lean and TOGAF methods with an ability to make these real to stakeholders at all levels to deliver lasting change.

Alex has extensive experience in leading and supporting organization-wide change, working with political and executive leaders to shape strategy and implementation. He has recently developed and delivered a nationally-recognised mobile data strategy at Staffordshire Police, which transformed the way the force interacted with citizens, and specializes in working with stakeholders at all levels to create innovative solutions and build bridges to solve seemingly impossible problems.

Elizabeth Bertoya

Elizabeth is a professional engineer and manager, with a wide range of experience in operational, project and change management to board level in a variety of sectors. Since 1996 she has worked as a management consultant helping organisations in industrial, service and public sectors to achieve sustained performance improvement. Her focus is on continuous and sustained performance improvement through the use of Lean or Systems Thinking techniques, which she developed from the manufacturing sector to apply in service and public sector companies. She is passionate about knowledge transfer and so develops and delivers courses, seminars and workshops supporting these projects.

Elizabeth has also been a Non-Executive Director of DVLA, VOSA and the Driver Vehicle Operator (DVO) Group, within the DfT. She has extensive audit & risk management experience, including chairing the VOSA Audit & Risk Management Committee. She was instrumental in implementing the DVO modernisation agenda, joining up government across the diverse group of agencies providing private and commercial motorist and vehicle services.

Alastair Watson

Alastair is an experienced consultant, and programme / project manager, specialising in process redesign, change management and transformation. He has strong experience in the areas of implementation of new operating models, business case development, change management and project management. He has many years experience of working in a variety of different organisations including local authorities, housing associations, aerospace, tech companies, manufacturing, mid-sized private companies, financial services, NHS and central government. He is an accomplished trainer delivering courses in project management, management skills, BPR, personal development, facilitation and customer relationship management.

Alastair held senior positions with large UK consultancies before joining ValueAdding.com Limited. He has a Masters Degree in Business Administration at Cranfield, which he accomplished on his return to the United Kingdom after seven years in New Zealand working in the area of production, and technical, management in the manufacturing industry. He has been a visiting lecturer in Business Policy and Strategy at the University of Westminster and is a PRINCE2 Practitioner.

Alastair is a keen veteran rower, mountaineer and skier. He is married with two, grown up children. He was Lord Mayor of Bristol in 2014/15.

Richard Dawson

Richard is an experienced and effective Consultant / Transformation Manager with a track record of successful outcomes in managing Business Transformation and Operational Delivery in the public and private sectors. He has led commercial transformation projects across a number of public sector service areas including Transport, Housing, Customer Services and Revenues & Benefits; delivering both improved service performance and cashable savings.

Richard also has operational management experience with a large Business Services processing centre; growing the business, significantly improving revenue and delivering innovative products and services. Richard’s early career was in Local Government and with a leading provider of outsourcing solutions.

Richard lives in Sheffield with his family, where he enjoys walks in the beautiful local countryside. He also likes most sports, particularly football and cricket, travelling and trying to keep fit.

Catherine Gage

With over 10 years experience in Local Government, Catherine is an experienced project and finance manager. A Prince 2 practitioner, Catherine has delivered new operating models and a step change in performance across adult social care, health, housing, parking, and street markets. Catherine has a strong background in financial and performance analysis and is CIPFA Certificate qualified, with substantial experience in efficiency and value for money.

Catherine has worked in both front-line service delivery as well as in strategic corporate roles, this enables her to both understand the demands of the day to day as well as the need to transform structures to meet new changing landscapes within the pubic sector.

Catherine lives in East London with her husband and two daughters and enjoys cooking and reading (when she has time!)

Debbie Greatorex

Before working with ValueAdding, Debbie was an Organisational Business Partner in the Public Sector. She has recent experience of working across a broad range of public sector organisations to support talent and succession planning, senior leadership development and supporting personal and organisational transformation and change through coaching, mentoring, neuro-linguistic programming and action learning.

With a passion for coaching, mentoring, action learning and people development, Debbie works with individuals and organisations to harness talent and potential to create succession plans that have a positive impact on the organisations ability to meet its strategic objectives now and in the long-term.

Debbie lives in Sheffield with her family. She has a passion for the written word; new theories, the tried and tested around organisational development, and for relaxation; history and thrillers. She indulges her love of history through travel and is particularly fond of Italy and its history.

Kevin Rotchford

Kevin has worked for ValueAdding since 2005, and has been responsible for the business' financial administration and accounting. He has developed and implemented a project control system for the company, and has responsibility for the production and distribution of training materials.

Prior to this, Kevin worked as a senior manager in the retail and leisure sectors, where he gained cross-functional experience in Sales, Operations, HR and Training.

Kevin has degree in Modern Languages from the University of Sheffield.

Kevin originates from Loughborough, and having lived and worked in a number of locations in UK, now lives in Sheffield with his wife Kay and two boys, Ben and Nat. He loves supporting the boys in their many and varied sporting endeavours. His own participation in things athletic is nowadays somewhat less demanding, limited as it is to the occasional walk in the Peaks, and the odd gentle game of cricket for The Old Contemptibles, a club which he co-founded with a group of friends a few years ago. Kevin loves socialising with friends and holidaying in Cornwall.
